Reckless Driving in Detroit (Repost)

Reckless driving and speeding in Detroit neighborhoods is a huge safety concern. My son and I have personally witnessed a pretty terrifying crash right in front of our house. Fortunately no one was seriously injured. But a car flying down the street, hit the curb, flipped and came just a few feet from hitting a house before it stopped. My dog, about 5 kids from the neighborhood and myself were playing in the yard when it happened. Had we been on the opposite side of the street playing, I don't know that I'd be here typing this today.

Fortunately, the city is doing something about it. I now have a speed hump right in front of my house. But people still drive too fast, some ignoring the hump altogether, others slowing down to go over the hump and then immediately accelerating to dangerous speeds again. I don't have a solution for the dangerous driving. But I do have a solution to get these kids sompeplace safe to play.
